I'm sorry, but this game isn't very good. There are many issues, such as there being no way to get back to the title screen from the menu, and there's no explanation of the controls. But there's 2 major issues that I noticed. The first thing is the controls. You use mouse to move, but spacebar to shoot. Why don't you just use right click to shoot? it's really hard to shoot with spacebar, aim using the mouse, and move at the same time. Also, the art looks like it was done in Microsoft Paint. It just looks bad.

However, I recognize that this is probably your first game, and for a first game, it's not bad. You need to spend more time fixing bugs and doing the art for your games, though.

Afrogames2018 responds:

Hi , i know the art wasn't the best although in all fairness the game was aimed at pixel based and was built for a university project in less than a month so i was against the clock however your feedback is invaluable and as my first attempt at a game i will try to make the changes to improve the game so thanks for the feedback it means a lot.

The game seems to be impossible to win. It's badly made, and the art and animations look like a small child made it.

The game is very well made, and is entertaining. I have one issue, though. When you pull back the chain, it doesn't really seem to be that helpful, as the chain just starts moving upward faster than it was before, fast enough that there's no good reason to do it. The difficulty needs to increase more gradually, as well. You also need new music for the game, as it wasn't very good. Besides that, it's a clever concept and a well-made game.

The game seems rushed. There's no animation for shooting, reloading, etc, and it doesn't feel like you are actually shooting zombies.

Hey, I am just a 13 year old kid making his first game, sorry for the cons

It's a scratch game. Scratch isn't a good software for creating games in. It's very good for a scratch game, but it suffers from many of the issues that are common in a scratch game, such as the appearance of lag. If this wasn't in scratch, it would be a decent game, nothing special, but it's not enjoyable to play as it is.

Strebicux responds:

I don't know any other coding languages yet. I'm learning some, but I really can't do anything about wierd Scratch glitches

It's a scratch game. It's not badly made, for a scratch game, but you should really, really use a different program to make games in. It has some issues commonly found in scratch games as well, as the game seems laggy. I have no idea why the random orange piece on the side is there, there needs to be a label that explains what it's doing.

Strebicux responds:

Its your score

This game is okay, and with the potential to be very good, the graphics are excellent and the general concept works. However, I wasn't really that interested, but I'm not a big fan of tower defense games. Anyways, I see 2 main issues with the game.

1. Absolutely nothing is explained. There's no tutorial or intro or anything.
2. The green currency is kind of annoying. I don't see the point in including it in the game, as it just limits the turrets you can buy.

keithjohnston responds:

Firstly, I appreciate you taking the time to offer your input. I didn't expect many people to come across it so quickly, as I posted it temporarily to allow a couple of friends to try it out.

1. As it says in the description, this version is lacking a tutorial. This will be the most important part and I am currently working on it as time allows.

2. I'll take that into consideration. As the game changed, the the original concept of the research level became a bit diluted. The idea was to create a better sense of progression when a particular unit is finally unlocked, rather than simply saving up for the highest tier unit in the beginning and skipping over the intermediate parts of the game. However, this could definitely benefit from a re-work.

Thanks!

The game isn't that great, and the mechanics don't work really well. First and foremost, the AI is really, really bad. It makes illogical and stupid decisions, and is way to easy. I just held the C key for most of the game and still won. Secondly, the entire "ki" mechanic is rather poorly implemented. If your opponent knew what they were doing, anytime you stopped to charge it you would just take a ton of damage. Ki blasts aren't any more powerful than a punch, despite the time it takes to charge them up, and the special attack is so easily dodged that it's laughable, it takes ages to power up. There's no real reason to use anything but punches and kicks, in my opinion. Also, teleport doesn't really teleport you anywhere, it just blinks you in and out, for some reason.

Also, the game feels laggy. This is probably because it's made with scratch. Scratch is good at showing small children the logic of computer programming, but it's horrible for a game. The game isn't smooth at all, it's choppy. There's also no way to restart the game after you win or lose, you have to reload the page.

You did a good job with making the game, as it's difficult to make something complex with software that isn't suited to the task. But, the game is extremely flawed.

Sigiled responds:

Thanks dude! in the future I will learn about other programming languages and correct all these bugs that you told me, thanks for telling me about all my error!

It's not a bad game, it's just your standard time-wasting clicker game. Watching the asteroid being destroyed is fun, but there's only 1 level, and the ending is fairly abrupt. Also, I have no idea what the skill that activates when you press the "E" button does. If you work to expand this game, it could be fairly good.

It's not bad, the idea of preparing your ship mid-flight is very interesting and makes the game much better. The side-scrolling fighter part of the game was okay. It wasn't very interesting to me, but I don't enjoy side-scrollers that much. The music isn't great, it felt annoying and repetitive. This game has the potential to be very, very good. With that said, I had 2 main issues with the game.

1. The controls. I was using a touchpad on a laptop, so I couldn't easily use one of the cannons.

2. The difficulty of the game. This might be because of the previous issue, but I died twice before I could beat the first level.

Anyways, good work on the game! I encourage you to keep working on it.

ElPandito responds:

Thanks for the feedback! I made this years ago for a game jam, in a fairly short time, but I'm just getting back to work on it.

Whew, mousepad gaming, you're brave haha! I plan to allow key customization eventually, so I think this should fix your issue. Yeah, you were doing half the damage you usually would, and some canon combinations are really great.

Again, thanks for the helpful feedback!
I'm currently trying to decide between two projects, which project to work on for the long term (I'm currently going full time yolo indie). Care to take a look at the other and tell me which you would rather see expanded on as a full fledged purchasable product? Anyway, if you're curious, here's the other project : https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/714777
